Creating spaces that make more sense

With today’s rising real estate prices, especially in the GTA, it only makes sense to update your existing property to meet the needs of your changing lifestyle. Whether you are starting a new family, starting up a new home business or need space for entertaining guests, homeowners can increase the value of their home by building an addition to their property. This can be done through many avenues, such as by adding a second story on top of an existing bungalow, building an addition in your backyard or even getting creative and building on top of your garage or making a functional attic. With your growing needs, you need your space to grow with you.

Additions are cost saving alternatives to moving homes and neighbourhoods that you’ve already made your mark in. Do I need a permit for home addition in Ontario?

Does my contractor need liability insurance?

It’s very important to hire a contractor that has liability insurance. It should include workman’s compensation (WSIB) and general liability. Eden Homes Contracting Services Inc. is a fully insured and licensed business.

How do I know if the plans are following the building codes?

Before starting the project, we need to consult the local zoning bylaws and match your plans with the allowances. If the plans have something that is not allowed by the zoning bylaws, it may not even get the permit or the nod of approval.
